Homes Caring for Autism believe that autistic individuals need and deserve specialist services, with staff who have a genuine understanding of autism. At the more complex end of the autistic spectrum, general learning disability services rarely meet that criteria. Our homes provide high levels of care and community integration for complex individuals, delivered by highly trained staff.

Excellent CQC inspection report for Taunton!

Greenway Road, one of the two homes making up the autism-specific learning disability residential care project in Taunton, had a random, unannounced visit from the Care Quality Commission in May 2010. The resulting report is very positive indeed, and highlights Home Caring for Autism's continuing commitment to its autistic service users and also to its own staff.

Following the inspection a further service user has taken up residence at Greenway Road. Contact us if you would like to discuss the final vacancy!

The Taunton property is split between a 4-bed residential family-style home, similar to Stafford Lodge, and another home made up of 5 self-contained 1-bedroom flats alongside communal living space. This home allows the choice of supported, semi-independent living or accommodation more in line with a residential care home, according to the needs of the service user. There are ongoing vacancies at our Taunton homes and new vacancies in other homes regularly become available following internal promotion and normal movement of staff. Taunton autism-specific project now up and running

Both properties in our Taunton project are now open and have each welcomed their first service users, both of which are delighted with their new homes.

This new and exciting autism-specific project has a mix of

  • 4 ensuited rooms in a family style home;
  • 4 independent flats, plus communal space, in a 4 flat block;
  • 1 single independent flat for respite, assessment and emergency admissions.
